KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge derives from the expertise of the space professionals involved in IAF activities and is output by the IAF in the form of news, facts, statistics, overviews, opinions and trends. These reflect the combined knowledge of space sectors worldwide. Knowledge is the major asset of the Federation.

Knowledge is produced by the individual IAF experts - the outcomes of think tanks, debate (forums like Plenary Sessions) or even ad hoc groups that can be set up for studying a specific subject.

The source of knowledge can also be a country. Once an International Astronautical Congress (IAC) is held in a country, the IAF members in that country become a primary source of information.

Experts have many opportunities to meet and exchange information and data in the various networking projects organised by the IAF. One obvious forum is the IAC which takes place during the autumn of every year, but it is by no means the only vehicle.

Dissemination also takes place through the committees, reports, publications, the website and its restricted area.
